Our Program -  There are many good fasting programs across the country, but most are expensive, “live-in” programs which
cost thousands of dollars.  Our 7-day Guided Juice Fast is designed to educate the local population about the benefits of fasting,
how to make lifestyle changes and how to prioritize one’s health.  We prefer juice fasting to water fasting because most of our
students are so nutrient deficient coming into the program, that we need to rebuild their systems while we detoxify.  The
reasonable cost includes a 22-item fasting package, fresh veggie juices and all classes.

Several weeks before the fast, you are provided with a “pre-fast” package which contains your books, fiber,  probiotics,
enzymes, and super cleanse as described in the enclosed materials.  We must improve the eliminative systems prior to fasting (to
prevent a back up of toxins).  Also, making some dietary & lifestyle changes in advance will lessen the symptoms of fasting.

The mandatory Introductory Class is on a Friday night.  It begins with a liquid dinner and includes 2.5 hours of instruction about
your Fasting Package and Procedures.  At this time, you will receive the balance of your fasting kit and your manual.

On Saturday and Sunday, we meet from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. for group sharing & education, followed by an optional exercise class.
Monday through Friday, our class meets from noon to 2:00 (education and sharing).  After the last class, we move to 3rd Street
Market from 2:45 to 3:45 for “Transition to Healthy Foods” class.

You will be drinking at least 12 drinks each day (3 powdered green drinks, 2 fresh veggie juices, 1 oz. wheatgrass juice, 2 Perfect
7 fiber, detox tea, veggie broth, Ionic Fizz and Emergen-C powder).  The first three days, you will also drink two 6 oz. servings
of apple juice in preparation for the liver-gall bladder flush.

What to Expect  - While this fast is designed to allow people to continue working, it is important to clear your schedule of
EVERY non-critical demand.  The more time you can spend resting, responding to healing crisis symptoms and the more classes
you attend, the more productive your fast will be.

It is typical to be nervous about the fast, especially as it approaches.  We wonder if we’ve made the right decision and question
our will power, time commitment, etc.  By the time you leave the Introductory Class, you will be so much more comfortable with
your decision.

The first two days are the hardest, with many students experiencing some hunger, headaches, stress of trying something new,
etc.  By Sunday or Monday, most students are very comfortable with the program and have very little hunger.  Your experience
will vary from hour to hour.  Expect to feel very sharp and energetic at times, and very lethargic or flu-like at others.

Weight loss is typically between 5 and 20 pounds (including pre-fast and fast).  The mathematical loss over 7 days (with one
pound being 3,500 calories) would be around 4 pounds, but the body dumps so many toxins that the weight loss is usually
larger.  However, thinner people tend to lose very little, while the larger lose the most.  Your body finds its natural equilibrium and
weight loss is gradual with lifestyle changes after the fast.  If weight loss is a long term goal for you, remember that 4 pounds a
month is 48 pounds in a year!

This is not a program of deprivation -    It is a program of rejuvenation

Our Clients  -.  The age range of our students has been from 17 to 84.  Our classes have included lawyers, architects, dentists,
doctors, chiropractors, nurses, hospital administrators, real estate brokers, retail owners, bankers, physical trainers, endurance
athletes, parents of small children, etc.  Some of our clients face very serious health issues, some seek to maintain their good
health and most are trying to ward off various aches and pains that have crept into their lives.

How to Register  - Each class is limited to 20 students.  You must return a completed registration form and deposit to reserve a
spot.  Act early because most classes are filled months in advance.  Occasionally, there will be last minute changes, opening
several spots.  However, those are quickly filled from the waiting list and priority needs students.

Preparing for the Juice Fast – Important!! Read Completely

CONGRATULATIONS on your healthy choice! This week will be a fantastic cleansing of body, mind and spirit, much as you
would spring clean your home. The excess food, drink and stress of our busy lives will melt away. By implementing the
following suggestions during the 2 to 4 weeks preceding the fast, your detoxification will be easier and more productive.

Pre-fast Items - Your book (“Juice Fast and Detoxification” or “28 Day Detox”), Perfect7 Fiber, Jarrow Probiotics, Digestive
Enzymes and Colon Cleanse will be available approximately 3 weeks before the fast at the Wellness Center. Please read the book
prior to the first class and follow instructions below for fiber, probiotics, enzymes and Super Cleanse.

Mandatory Introductory Class – On Friday night we will meet from 6:00-9:00 p.m. for the mandatory introductory class. You
will receive a fast manual and the balance of the fasting package at this time. Please bring this printed information to class and
arrive on time. We will serve a delicious raw soup from 6:00 to 6:15 p.m. This first half-hour will also be used for final
registration matters.

Cancellations – A deposit of one-half the fast fee is required to hold your place in the fast. If you need to cancel, please call us
right away. You will receive a refund as follows:
        Full Refund if you cancel enrollment or change your fast dates 2 weeks or more prior to the start of the fast
(minus any unreturned pre-fast items).
        There will be a $50 administrative fee for changes made 1 to 2 weeks before the fast, as well as deductions
for any unreturned pre-fast items.
        For changes less than 7 days prior to the fast, a $100 fee will be taken to include the admin fee, the manual
and the ordered veggies.       (Any unreturned pre-fast items will be deducted separately.)

FOLLOW THESE PREFAST INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY

1. Prefast Pack

Fiber – Increase dietary fiber daily and supplement withPerfect7 Fiber on an empty stomach (mix 1 tsp. in 8 oz. of water twice
daily and follow with extra 8 oz. of water).
Probiotic - Take 1 capsule of the Jarrow probiotics daily (upon arise or bedtime) to help prepare the intestinal tract for major
cleansing. I also recommend the following foods for Probiotics: raw apple cider vinegar, plain Keifer (unflavored Helios brand
available at health food stores), plain organic yogurt, Kvass (Kombucha tea) or raw kraut.
Enzymes - Take 1 or 2 digestive enzymes at the beginning of each meal.
Super Colon Cleanse - Take 1 colon cleanse tablet at bedtime (on an empty stomach) for 5 nights starting the Tuesday night
before the fast.
Wean off Caffeine – If you go cold turkey, you will have headaches. Start gradually cutting the caffeine out now so that you are
caffeine free by the week of the fast. Remember, black tea has 50% and green tea has 30% of the caffeine found in coffee.

2. Drink More Water – Start measuring the amount of water you drink. For most of you, it will be around 2 quarts per day
(more if you exercise heavily). Divide your body weight (lbs) by 2 to determine how many ounces to drink each day. Herbal teas
count toward the total, but other drinks do not.

3. Eliminate sugars and alcohol – Over the next few weeks, you should refrain from alcohol and wean yourself off of refined
sugars. This will stabilize your blood sugar and help eliminate hunger while fasting.

4. Cut down on animal products – By the week before the fast, you should be eating all vegetarian. The last couple of days
should be mostly raw foods. We will serve a raw, liquitarian veggie soup on Friday evening from 6:00 to 6:30. Allow at least ½
hour for that meal.

5. Eat Healthy – In the couple of weeks before the fast, start to focus on organic nutrition and eat meals that include vegetarian
proteins (beans, legumes, nuts, seed, whole grains and veggies). A few days prior, eat raw veggies & fruits. Follow the “How to
Eat” instructions attached.
Start getting extra rest – Three days prior should be the last “late night” for you. Try after that to back up your bedtime so that
you are asleep by 10 p.m. nightly. During the fast, you will try to get 8 to 10 hours of sleep, so this is the time to move towards
that target.

6. Clear your schedule – The Juice Fast is designed to allow people to keep working during the fast. However, try to take some
days off and don’t schedule anything unless it is absolutely necessary. This is your week. Your family, friends and (to the extent
possible)  work, should take a back seat to your needs. You’ll need time to attend meetings, cleanse, soak, meditate, rest and
exercise. A sample daily schedule is attached for your planning.

7. Plan/prepare family meals ahead of time – If you are responsible for preparing family meals, you’ll want to prepare meals
ahead (freeze or refrigerate) and make other alternative arrangements. Your family will need to take responsibility, eat some meals
out, etc. It is difficult to cook for others while on the fast.

8. Optional Items – 12 daily drinks are included in the fast (2 fresh juices and wheatgrass at the meetings, 3 powdered green
drinks, 2 fiber drinks, herb tea, Emergen-C, Ionic Fizz & broth). Extra fresh juice may be purchased from us, but we need to
know 1 week in advance. For the first 3 days of the fast, drink 6-8 oz. of apple juice twice a day to prepare for the
Gallbladder/Liver flush you will be doing on Monday or Tuesday night (we'll give you a bottle).  If you have blood sugar issues,
you will want to take Spirulina (algae) with your juices.

To eliminate toxins, we highly recommend colon hydrotherapy, massages, reflexology, etc.
        Colon Hydrotherapy & Detox Foot Spa: AquaSoothe  (Peggy Small 752-3390)
is available on Floor 2 of the Wellness Center.

        Massage Therapy – Floor 2:   Kim Stanley Short (885-3228), Karen Rogers (270-3847), and
Jena Silva (892-2680) reflexology and accupressure massage

        QXCI Biofeedback:  Linda Marcus  (261-0627).

NOTE: Please contact each therapist individually. We do not schedule through the Wellness Center.

9. Supplements and Medications – Let us know if you are taking prescription medications. Check with your doctor before you
cut or skip doses.  If you have significant health issues, please schedule a prefast consultation with Jeanette Cheney.

You should eliminate all other supplements during the fast except homeopathics and liquids).  The fresh juices you will be
drinking during the fast will provide all the nutrition you need. You may also use herbs and Bentonite clay during the fast, but wait
until you get your fasting package and review the ingredients – many of the detoxifying herbs are already included.

PREPARING FOR AND BREAKING THE FAST

HOW TO EAT MEALS

•        Take digestive enzymes, particularly when eating cooked foods.

•        Don’t drink with meals (not more than 4 oz of lemon water).  Drink water ½ hour before or 2 hours after.

•        Never eat while under stress, emotionally upset or “on the run”.

•        Don’t read or watch TV while eating.  It distracts you from chewing properly and pacing yourself slowly.

•        Eat smaller, more frequent meals.

•        Focus on food combining (fruit by itself, no flesh protein with starches, 1 starch per meal, just a few types of food in one
meal, single food type meals).  KEEP IT SIMPLE!

•        Eat less animal foods (or none at all).  Those you eat need to be organic, free range (no growth hormones, no antibiotics,
no pesticides, no stress hormones). Keep portions to 4 oz., combine with veggies only  (not potato or grains) and take digestive
enzymes.

•        Decide on portion to serve and then cut it in half

•        Look at your plate.  Envision how the food on it is going to serve your body, mind and spirit.  Say a blessing of thanks for
the food you are about to eat and what it is going to do for you (this goes for the healthy and occasional not-so-healthy treats)

•        Cut food into very small pieces (including salad).  Put small portions into your mouth.  Using small utensils (salad fork,
dessert fork or teaspoon) or chopsticks helps limit the size of each bite.

•        Breath, relax and chew your food to a liquid pulp (this triggers enzymes to start digestion in the mouth). Don’t put another
bite in your mouth until the previous one is completely chewed and swallowed.

•        If you are having dessert, wait 1-2 hours after dinner and keep portions very small.  Eating dessert immediately following
dinner causes poor digestion, gas and bloating.
